Suggestions and feed-back from MDs:


Current system [Locian/touchpad screen]
i. different hospitals and programs support different systems
i. only use the system for the prescriptions
(you can prescribe medication through the main system while logged on, but must be printed and delievered by hand)
i. Must log-in to 3 different systems
i. E-mail response through the LAB (NYU medical system) to the designated MD only vis Email. [MD must go through the process of opening personal email and open the attatchment, copy and past into the main medical database system MD is using] This procedure is made by LAW of NYC.
i. Different hospital in the States uses different system (ie. Avantel, Cytric, etc)
i. Time consuming entering data. Complicated interface.

i. Typing data : pop-up keyboard system on the screen.




VMDS Interface
Pros.
side by side handy interface with the most important interest of MD with the medical history
[patient history/recent visits vs. the results/images/prescriptions/]
Easily accessible to all the interaction amongst MD, Patient,
Patient and Doctor simple Q&A area between doctors visits

Cons.
Not legal in NY state.
